Social Butterflies...

that is what my children are! Nick enjoyed a party at the local bowling and leisure centre on Friday night until 7pm which is late for Craig and I to be out these days. No let up on Saturday with dancing, morning tea at Teaspoon in town and soccer in which Nick scored 2 goals. On Sunday we visited the local produce markets which were ridiculously busy. It must've been the beautiful weather. I then left the children and Craig at home to go to my monthly scrapping club afternoon in which I produced 2 LO's (see below). Craig, Nick and Penny went to explore a new bike way and had a great time.Today we went to have morning tea with Penny's friend, Sam and his family. After lunch we went to Spotlight to check out the sale and bought some crafty projects to complete in the holidays. Then on to my friend Petrina's place where the children all had a good play and we could catch up over a coffee and talk about scrapbooking. We're really enjoying ourselves and it won't stop tomorrow. Will let you know what we get up to then.
Here is a card I made last week.

Holidays Have Begun

Today was the first day of the holidays and what fun we had. My friend, Carol from work and her gorgeous daughter, Illiana came for morning tea. Penny, Nicholas and Illiana had a great time playing together, so much so that she wanted to stay longer which was a great idea. Carol returned this afternoon which unfortunately was cut short by swimming lessons but the kids had a lovely time playing with a new friend.

Our latest addition is a treadmill. Craig's 11hr days don't allow much time to get out and do exercise as well as spend time with the children so we decided to purchase a treadmill. He gets on it after we have put the kids to bed. I have used it a couple of times and it's great and makes me feel much less guilty about not getting to the gym as often as I should.
Here are some cards that I have made in the last few weeks. The last one is for my brother who is celebrating his birthday tomorrow - HAPPY BIRTHDAY RICHARD!!

Sportsday

Today, Penny and I spent the day at Nicholas' school watching him compete in sportsday. The morning was foggy when we woke up which is always a good sign that it's going to be a beautiful day and it was. We all breathed a sigh of relief after the constant rainy day on Monday. I think my arms even got a little sunburnt! Nicholas seems to be more suited to team sports as he found the sprints and relays quite challenging although was not last. He did a little shadow watching whilst running as he did last year although it was only for a fleeting moment today. This year, rather than just ball games which is quite difficult for the little ones, they had a station based group of sports - skipping; throwing foam rockets; tunnelball and unders and overs; and sack race and pillow race. The children seemed to enjoy this. It was a really big day for us all but very enjoyable. We had a good rest at home and then out to soccer training this evening. There was no resistance to the suggestion of bed time tonight.
I finished a LO last night - here it is.

Penny Bettina...Pretty Ballerina!

Today, our gorgeous daughter performed on stage with her kinda dance class at a concert in front of about 200 people. She was so brave and went up all by herself and performed with her partner whom she only practiced with yesterday. Before that she wouldn't practice with anyone but Mummy. She remembered her dance quite well and then the group sang "Twinkle, twinkle little star" into the microphone which was very sweet. The concert featured all of the different classes from our dance school. It went for 3.5hrs and whilst Craig and Nick left after an hour, Penny was mesmerised and wanted to stay for the whole time. She kept wanting to get back up on stage and dance. At the end she was awarded with a certificate, pencil and colouring book. Penny really enjoyed seeing the older children perform who help out in her class. There certainly are some very talented children who can dance and sing at our dance school. Penny's favourite was a solo ballerina who was spectacular in dancing and appearance with the most stunning ballet tutu. It was a really special day, one that mother and daughter both really enjoyed.
After the concert we went onto a baby shower for one of my work friends which was a lovely girly way for us to top off our Sunday. No troubles getting little possum to bed tonight.

We enjoyed a busy weekend. I went out on Friday night to a Chicken and Chablis dinner and enjoyed delicious food and wine. It was a great fun night with a circus theme and a talented clown in attendance. Saturday was busy with the usual dancing, soccer and golf for Craig. On Saturday night we met up with some friends and their baby and ventured to a local Mexican restaurant which we all enjoyed. Penny loves going out to dinner. Quite a little lady with expensive tastes at 3! Whilst we were at dancing today, the boys left and went out fishing in the little boat and although they didn't bring any fish home they had a good adventure. We've had a great weekend.

Quiet Days

Not much to report here at the moment and I'm cherishing it. Penny was a little social butterfly on the weekend with 2 birthday parties to attend. Both parties were at the bowling and leisure centre and the kids enjoyed the big slide and jumping castle. Penny asked me why we weren't going again on Monday! Nick managed a play at both parties and Craig and he had a ride on the dodgem cars on Sunday which he loved.
I've had a lovely week and feel quite pampered with having my nails done, going to a Body Shop party where we had a hand bath, exfoliation and massage and then off to have my hair done.
Only this week and next until school holidays which we are looking forward to. Before then we have a dancing concert, sportsday and extra working days so we can't wait for the rest.

The Last One...

This weekend was the last long weekend in Queensland for the year (until Christmas) and I feel like we wasted it as we didn't do much or go anywhere. This is partly due to me still trying to catch up on things after being away, and also it is Craig's annual weekend away to a fishing competition. As you can see they did quite well. Unfortunately this coral trout missed out on taking out the prize for the heaviest coral trout by 5oograms!
I managed to get an educational newsletter done for work which I am relieved about as I haven't done one since February. Nothing like a conference to find some inspiration to impart some knowledge. Nick scored a goal at soccer on Saturday and Penny sang "Twinkle Twinkle Little Star" into the microphone at dancing - very cute. We had some friends over for afternoon tea on Sunday and the six children all had a great play. I also managed to finish off this LO that I started a couple of months ago.
